Creating a product around AP-Latam technology: Dymaxion Analytics Platform
As already mentioned in our previous posts regarding mapping of slums using ConvNets and delineating roofs in non-residential areas, the combination of aerial imagery and machine learning provides many potential use cases beyond our initial work of mapping slums and informal settlements.
In the very beginning of Dymaxion, we needed to develop the core algorithms to sustain every block of the slums mapping project, like batch imagery processing, roof and green areas detection, and urban sprawling segmentation, among other tasks. Meeting different people interested in our technology beyond the scope of our project helped us validate some hypotheses related to other applications, like agriculture and civil engineering. We could employ our green areas algorithms on agriculture products or the roof counting technology to compare how different cities grow for a real estate company.
After a few months doing research and more hypothesis testing, we began developing a platform to help companies like yours get ready to use structured insights derived from aerial imagery. You will be able to access more than ten years of imagery and process them in our platform, detecting different types of objects and comparing changes on images of different dates.
The steps are simple: define your area of interest, then choose the analysis you want to run and we deliver the results to your email address. For instance, this is how you would count the number of pools in a residential area:
We allow you to unlock insights from your desk. Manually searching for imagery on large areas is a time-consuming task that takes up precious time you could employ on better decision making. You select the area and the insight you need, we grab the data and process it for you.
If you already have imagery or you are an imagery company, you can upload your data into the platform and run the algorithms on it, like a plugin. We can help you add more value to your services, not only related to machine learning but regarding reusing your imagery in other use cases and helping you reach new kind of customers.
